Pescara Food

The food has been unbelievable - we have been enjoying the hospitality of Santo's relatives on his mother's side.  Ilenya, her husband Fabio and their daughter Vitoria.

Breakfast at a cafe consists of Italian cappuccino and brioche - nutella, cream or marmalade.

Lunch between 1 and 2 consists of fresh buffala mozzarella,  lasagne, prosciutto,  fresh ricotta with crushed pistachios,  salad, rice ball and roasted veggies.

Dinner occurs at 8 or later.  Always start with antipasta - which is a meal in itself.  Sometimes a seafood platter or pasta or both and maybe a few more dishes too. Pizza was unbelievable - toppings you would not expect: tuna and onion, eggplant and zucchini, potato, as well as the traditional margheritta.  Arrosticini - lamb on a skewer - roasted on the grill.  Arrosticini is a dish Pescara is known for.

And then dessert.

Ilenya and Fabio would go home to put Vitorria to bed ... and we would walk ... at least a couple of miles - and maybe a swim in the ocean for the boys.
